The building
comprises of 1,985 m² of office and ancillary space and provides a
work centre for the Department of Inland Revenue to serve the
Otjozonjdupa Region.

It is organized as a linear building with its
primary axis oriented East/ West so as to minimize heat gain during the times of
day when the sun is low in the eastern or western sky.

Skylights
facilitate the day lighting of interior office space within the deep
plan and cavity walls serve to both better insulate the envelope and
control moisture ingress through the face brick walls.

Secure courtyards serve to
provide landscaped relief from the air conditioned interior and can
be accessed from the staff passage and adjacent offices. A large
garden entrance court serves to moderate the climate immediately to
the east of the building and provides a landscaped waiting area for
the public.

The project is being
developed in two stages, the first of which was completed in March
2006 and is now occupied. The second phase is presently underway and
is due for completion in February 2007.
